Poker Tools
The first table here contains some very useful poker tools. Thepokerdb and Sharkscope are in the business of tracking online poker players results. Thepokerdb concentrates on Multi-table tournaments, while Sharkscope concentrates on Sit-and-Gos.
The Pot Joy handsimulator is one of the best hand simulators in the business where you can work on pot odds, and work out the liklihood of your particular hand winning.
Poker Tracker, Poker Stove and Poker Office are all tools for monitoring and improving your own game. If you want all your playing stats recorded automatically these are good tools to use. They cost money to buy, but most players say they pay for themselves in the general leaks which you fill in your game. IE you might find a particler hand which historically gives you very bad results.
Rounders Paradise is a good site if you are looking for a poker stake. IE you are looking for someone effectively to sponsor you to play.
The Hendon Mob database is the premium database in the world for tracking poker players in the live environment. Their database contains results going back some 20 years.
Poker Sites
The navigation bar to you left contains several recommended Poker sites. These are places where you can play poker against people from around the world. The sites make money by charging a small rake or tournament fee, however this is never too oppressive. They have tournaments at all levels, so a good strategy is to deposit a small amount to start (maybe $50 US dollars) and then just play some $1 tournaments so you can get used to playing poker online. My other half did this, and she is now upto $80 in her account and has been playing 6 months or so. It is not a massive profit, but it really shows it is far from gambling, as you probably would spend 100 times that amount in the pub in 6 months.
